Astrology, Peonies, Oracles

Heeere we go again. I just got back to Savannah from Florida, and I'm ready to get bustin' on art and so forth again. This is some stuff I finished before I left, but never ..uh...got around to posting here.

Peony Necklace. I like this one a lot - simple, and elegant, and silvery.

And some crazy astrological sign pendants. Made from brass, pierced, hammer textured, and patina'd in liver of sulfur to bring out crazy colors. I'll eventually get all of the signs done, but I just have two so far.
And after all this crazy jewelry, finally some nice drawing-type stuff.

First sales!

All right, I just posted my first two sales from my Apple Dainty Shop :D Super super exciting to actually sell things I make!

Speaking of making things, it's about time I took off the jewelry cap and put back on the drawing cap. I finished pencilling the first illustration from my Oracle Deck today. Hopefully I can go home and ink it tonight without too much interruption (or distraction), and maybe even sketch out a decent composition for the next card.

Here's the last batch of bunny jewelry and an artist's trading card (sawed from brass) that I finished two days ago, and the necklaces are now up for sale in my shop:

I do so love bunnies! But I think that's all the bunnies I have left in me. I DO have two more kitty necklaces planned, and an aries-sign necklaces for my friend for Christmas. Whew! What a crazy busy holiday season this has been.

Weeeeee!

Here is where I am and where I'll be! At least, until 9 pm tonight. I'm at work at the moment, and the gallery I work in is having an art show tonight so I'm going to be here later than usual.

Not too terribly much going on at the moment, but I did finish my website (yay!) and Leo had his wisdom teeth out yesterday (owie). Poor thing is staying with me till his mouth heals up. Nothing but pudding, applesauce, and jello for a few days.

Here's some recent work.
This is my final jewelry piece from metals and jewelry class at scad. It's a cuff I designed and pierced from 20 g brass sheet. The flower is and orchid made from 20g copper that I also patterned, pierced, formed, patina'd, and riveted to the cuff.

It's a lot of work, but totally worth it. Now for sale in my etsy shop.
Next up, another brass cuff. I like this one the best, I think. It's very delicate with hearts and all. Again, pierced from 20g brass. Also for sale in my shop.

These are actually really great to make, since they don't require the use of the jewelry lab (no soldering, ha). I make them at home from my litle jewelry bench (it's actually a rolling breakfast cart that I modified into a jewelry bench/work table. I can move it into the kitchen area when I want to chop vegetables or prep food, and over near the tv when I want to draw or work on jewelry.)

If you're going to be in downtown Savannah tonight, come out to Wright Square for an awesome evening of entertainment, shopping, and food! I'll be working and you can visit me too :D
